How is everyone on this bright afternoon ? It is actually quite bright at my place right now even though it is moving towards the evening already. And honestly I am not exactly having the best of time.
Anyway, Happy
New
Year !
I kind of want to pat myself at the back for surviving another year but I know that, there are people who survived worse stuff than me. So I need to be grateful.
I made a lot of rash decisions. I made a lot of mistakes. I admit. I cannot tell you that I do not regret it because in reality, half of the time of my day is me just sitting down and regretting every decision I made. But life goes on after all. I wrote down a few New Year's resolution and pasted it on the wall of my bedroom so when I wake up, it is the first thing I see (seeee, so effective! )
Either way, with the lessons I learnt from last year, I hope to go through this year a breeze. Hopefully 2015 will be a good year to me. I hope. All in it, let's welcome the new year with open arms and leave the bad memories behind. Cheers !
I haven't been doing much review on movies and books this couple of few posts because I haven't had the interest to watch movies or read books. Which is so unlike me because I love books. I love reading. What is happening to me. Sigh.
Back to topic, a friend of mine was wondering what TV series to start so I recommended Pushing Daisies. That was when I realise, I didn't really talk about how much I like it !
Synopsis
Ned possesses a rare gift -- the ability to restore life to the dead -- with a touch. He puts his power to good use, helping an investigator solve murders by reviving the victim and asking the deceased to name the killer. Complications arise when Ned brings his childhood sweetheart, Chuck, back from the dead with the intention of keeping her alive. There's just one snag: If Ned ever touches Chuck again, she goes back to being dead, for keeps. ( as extracted from Google. Ah, the power of google.)
Plot
In terms of plot, I think it is very interesting. It is different and unique. It caught my attention and hold onto it until I finished the whole series. The idea of the whole forbidden love taken in a complete different way is refreshing. Throughout the whole series, it is filled with quirky, funny moments and moments that make your stomach flutter a bit. A bonus point to the fact that Kristin Chenoweth is a part of the cast and some random singing moments make the whole tv series more enjoyable. In all, it has great story line. A bit ridiculous but it is all in the fun isn't it ? Every few episodes there are new cases to be solved but somehow they don't neglect the previous problem they had in the past few episodes and I find it very realistic. Because let's be honest, if our life was like a TV series, all of our problem will be forgotten with just slick of our hand. The narrator also gives out this carefree, comical air to the whole TV series. Truth in all, if it wasn't for those comical air towards the show, it is actually quite a tragic story, don't you think ?
Character
Lee Pace plays the main character and he plays him very well. Ned in the story line is this shy and introvert kind of boy and Lee Pace portrayed him immensely well. The characters doesn't seem too perfect, sometimes they make stupid mistakes that at some point in our life, we have done it before.
Conclusion, it is a great TV series. A bit of flaw but it is one I can oversee. Sadly, it had been cancelled so it only has two seasons but we will take what we get, don't we.
That's all for today. My brain juice is all drained and I am getting sleepy. Ciao for now.
