Busy days are back.

College has officially started for me. As exciting it is, it is also very nerve-wrecking. It has been 3 weeks and I am still adapting to the whole college situation.

As much as I want to say I am enjoying it, I am having difficulties in some class. Especially English class. The classmates I have in there, their level of English is like way superior than mine. I feel so insignificant in that class. Yikes.

A few days ago, I did my first presentation. I hope I did all right. I am not good at speaking in public, in front of a bunch of people I don't know. It is weird though cause during high school ,I was always one of those people who stood in front of class and told my opinion about certain topics. Which was less nerve-wrecking cause I know my classmates but in a new year, a new school and new environment, I am still trying to know people I guess ?

On a serious note, I watched Into The Woods. I was suppose to post this earlier but I got lazy. As usual. Anyway, long story short, this movie is an adaptation of the classic musical. The play consists of most of our favourite fairytale characters's fate being tied together by this woods and a baker and his wife. It is a musical movie. It is more of a dark twist after the happily ever after that somehow is not that happy after all.

When I first heard of it, I was beyond enthusiastic for it. The whole concept seems pretty interesting and the actors that is acting in the movie is quite good for example, Anna kendrick as Cinderella, Chris Pine as Prince Charming, Meryl Streep as the wicked witch and etc etc.

I guess I went in with too high of hope and came out quite disappointed. The movie is good, but for me it just wasn't enough ? I felt like they could do better but overall it is okay movie, and I enjoy it despite being disappointed with it. I would recommend people to watch if only they want to and f they don't mind musical. How about you guys watch it and then decide whether my opinion on it is okay. Because after all, everyone has different taste ?

I watch the trailer again and I got to say, the trailer is done quite well. It is just not what I imagined when I watched the movie. You get me ? haha

Anyway, I shall stop here. Happy weekend !

Excuse me, does the fact that I am woman frighten you ?

I need some sort of place to fangirl so I shall do it here.

Exciting news ! Agent Carter has a TV series. It just release today and guess who couldn't be anymore happy? I have watched it, obviously or I wouldn't be typing this out.

I knew the show was coming out, I just didn't really keep track because first of all, I am someone who pay quite a lot of attention to DC comics TV series. Not that I don't like Marvel, in fact Marvel is fantastic. When I saw through the wondrous internet that Agent Carter is releasing today,  I couldn't help myself. She was so badass in the movie, I reckon she will be the same for the show. Boy, was I right ?! She is literally the epitome of badassery.

I absolutely adore her and it is only the 1st episode. Her character is written well, she is not just this Mary Sue character which I am always thankful. Let's be honest, we need more shows with female lead character that have personality and not just there for the sake of it.

Anyway, the first episode seem to start off well with a good story line and some great character (Peggy Carter, duh.) During that after world war 2 era, the society was still quite sexist. Society assuming girls are only good with paper works and housework. The show did show that aspect, which is good. Peggy Carter is literally the epitome of what I want to be. When some guy defended her from her colleague's insults, she politely told him that she didn't need his help. She didn't honestly because what is worse than showing your bully you need another people to help defend you plus she is well capable enough. She can handle herself well, thank you very much.

In fact, since she is the only women in the whole office of the Strategic Scientific Reserve, they tend to treat her like a underrated secretary. Not letting her go out to the field even though she is twice more capable than half of them. She not only never let it get her down, she uses those sexism to get what she needs to get her way. She needs information on this guy? Sure, she will act like a secretary just to go into the meeting room, pour coffee and listen to those arrogant fools talk about it. She knows when to be passive, and deals with  the whole sexism issue with an air of sophistication. She is a someone who doesn't receive bullshit from people. I was just rendered speechless.

Hayley Atwell is literally Agent Carter. Her acting is so good. Plus, she does her stunt. I am so glad they cast her to play Peggy. Chad Micheal Murray also plays a character in it (That guy who played the lead in A Cinderella Story) and Howard Stark returns to the TV screen ! Good cast, don't you think ?

I do hope they do not give up on the series after a season. I hope the rating will be high because I see great potential in this show.I am utterly impressed by this show, my opinion may waver later on if they don't keep up the good work. (I am sure it won't because Marvel's writers are, in my opinion, so talented.)

Try the show. Who knows, you may love it.

Fun fact : Peggy Carter is now officially my new role model.

A little update: apparently there is an another episode I missed so I shall watched that now. My opinion still stands.

Another update : Watched the 2nd episode. I am still utterly impressed.

I survived another year.

How is everyone on this bright afternoon ? It is actually quite bright at my place right now even though it is moving towards the evening already. And honestly I am not exactly having the best of time.

Anyway,      Happy
                       New
                                 Year !
I kind of want to pat myself at the back for surviving another year but I know that, there are people who survived worse stuff than me. So I need to be grateful.

I made a lot of rash decisions. I made a lot of mistakes. I admit. I cannot tell you that I do not regret it because in reality, half of the time of my day is me just sitting down and regretting every decision I made. But life goes on after all. I wrote down a few New Year's resolution and pasted it on the wall of my bedroom so when I wake up, it is the first thing I see (seeee, so effective! )

Either way, with the lessons I learnt from last year, I hope to go through this year a breeze. Hopefully 2015 will be a good year to me. I hope. All in it, let's welcome the new year with open arms and leave the bad memories behind. Cheers !

I haven't been doing much review on movies and books this couple of few posts because I haven't had the interest to watch movies or read books. Which is so unlike me because I love books. I love reading. What is happening to me. Sigh.

Back to topic, a friend of mine was wondering what TV series to start so I recommended Pushing Daisies. That was when I realise, I didn't really talk about how much I like it !

 Synopsis
Ned possesses a rare gift -- the ability to restore life to the dead -- with a touch. He puts his power to good use, helping an investigator solve murders by reviving the victim and asking the deceased to name the killer. Complications arise when Ned brings his childhood sweetheart, Chuck, back from the dead with the intention of keeping her alive. There's just one snag: If Ned ever touches Chuck again, she goes back to being dead, for keeps.  ( as extracted from Google. Ah, the power of google.)

Plot
In terms of plot, I think it is very interesting. It is different and unique. It caught my attention and hold onto it until I finished the whole series. The idea of the whole forbidden love taken in a complete different way is refreshing. Throughout the whole series, it is filled with quirky, funny moments and moments that make your stomach flutter a bit. A bonus point to the fact that Kristin Chenoweth is a part of the cast and some random singing moments make the whole tv series more enjoyable. In all, it has great story line. A bit ridiculous but it is all in the fun isn't it ? Every few episodes there are new cases to be solved but somehow they don't neglect the previous problem they had in the past few episodes and I find it very realistic. Because let's be honest, if our life was like a TV series, all of our problem will be forgotten with just slick of our hand. The narrator also gives out this carefree, comical air to the whole TV series. Truth in all, if it wasn't for those comical air towards the show, it is actually quite a tragic story, don't you think ?

Character
Lee Pace plays the main character and he plays him very well. Ned in the story line is this shy and introvert kind of boy and Lee Pace portrayed him immensely well. The characters doesn't seem too perfect, sometimes they make stupid mistakes that at some point in our life, we have done it before.

Conclusion, it is a great TV series. A bit of flaw but it is one I can oversee. Sadly, it had been cancelled so it only has two seasons but we will take what we get, don't we.

That's all for today. My brain juice is all drained and I am getting sleepy. Ciao for now.
